FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE


2003-present: Led, co-led, or participated in paleontological and geological fieldwork in Mesozoic and Cenozoic deposits in several regions within Spain:

Director of the paleontological prospections in Mesozoic outcrops from Teruel province, Spain (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No. 052/2013).

Participant in the 2013 excavation campaign of an articulated neck of a titanosaur sauropod specimen from the Orcau site (Upper Cretaceous), southern Pyrenees, Spain. Director: Dr. Bernat Vila (ICP, Barcelona, Spain), authorized by the Governement of Catalunya and funded by National Geographic.

Director (co-directed with Dr. Miguel Moreno-Azanza, University of Zaragoza) of the paleontological excavacions in the macrovertebrate (dinosaur) fossil site of “Camino de la Algecira” (Lower Cretaceous, Teruel, Spain)”. Four annual campaigns from 2008 to 2011. (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No. 443/08/09/10/2011. 11.000 €).

Director (co-directed with Dr. Miguel Moreno-Azanza, University of Zaragoza) of the paleontological prospections (including screen-washing works) in Lower Cretaceous outcrops from Teruel and Zaragoza provinces, Iberian Range, Spain. Four annual campaigns from 2008 to 2011. (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, files No. 222/2008, 091/2009, 124/2010 and 080/2011. 8.500 €).

Participant in the excavation of a large-sized crocodyliform specimen from Teruel province, Spain, Albian (Early Cretaceous) in age. Two weeks, in summer and autumn 2011 (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No. 196/2011, co-directed by M. Moreno-Azanza and E. Puértolas, University of Zaragoza).

Participant in the paleontological excavation of the type-locality of the sauropod Aragosaurus (Galve, Teruel, Spain, Early Cretaceous), in summer 2010. (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No.  129/2010, directed by Dr. José I. Canudo, University of Zaragoza).

Participant in the paleontological excavation of the eggshell and microfossil site “Cuesta Corrales 2” (type-locality of the spheroolithid eggshell Guegoolithus turolensis and the dryolestid mamal Crusafontia amoae) from Galve, Teruel, Spain. Two campaigns 2010-2011 (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No.  128/10/2011, directed by Dr. M. Moreno-Azanza, University of Zaragoza).

Participant in the prospections and excavations in Paleogene (sea-cows-bearing) mamal sites from Huesca province, southern Pyrenees, Spain. Three campaigns 2009-2011 (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, files No.  083/2009, 131/10/2011, directed by Dr. Ainara Badiola, University of the Basque Country).

Participant in the paleoichnological prospections from the Jurassic-Cretaceous interval from the province of Teruel, Spain (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, file No.  089/2011, directed by Dr. Diego Castanera, University of Zaragoza).

Participant in the paleontological prospections in Uppermost Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) outcrops from Huesca province, southern Pyrenees, Spain. Campaigns 2010 and 2011, including the discovery of the type-localities of the crocodyliforms Arenysuchus gascabadiolorum and Allodaposuchus subjuniperus (Authorized by the Government of Aragón, files No.  231/08-2009, 136/2010, directed by Dr. P. Cruzado-Caballero, University of Río Negro, Argentina).

Participant (as undergraduate student) in the excavation of the rebbachisaurid sauropod Demandasaurus darwini (Early Cretaceous) and of several ichnological sites in Burgos province, Iberian Range, Spain (Director: Fidel Torcida Fernández-Baldor, Museo de dinosaurios de Salas de los Infantes).
